In a significant development for India’s prowess and global alliances, the Indian Air Force will conduct the multilateral aerial exercise called Tarang Shakti this year in the month of October or November in the Rajasthan sector.
Tarang Shakti is poised to become India’s largest multinational air exercise, featuring an impressive array of aircraft, including fighter jets, military transport planes, mid-air refuelers, and Airborne Warning and Control System (AWACS) aircraft. It is currently in the planning stage.
A total of 12 nations will participate in the event. While six countries will serve as observers, the remaining six will actively engage with their respective Air Forces. This significant exercise highlights a major milestone for the Indian Air Force (IAF) and underscores its growing role in international military cooperation.
Although the official list of participating countries has not been announced, sources within defence and security establishments have suggested the presence of the QUAD (Quadrilateral Security Dialogue) nations. The exercise aims to enhance coordination, interoperability, and integration among the participating air forces, delivering a strong and resolute message to both potential and existing adversaries.
While the Indian Air Force has previously hosted multilateral exercises such as Exercise Orion in France, Exercise INOICHIOS in Greece, and Exercise Cope India alongside the United States, Tarang Shakti will surpass them all by demonstrating extraordinary multinational aerial cooperation on Indian soil.
