New Delhi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah has expressed a vision for Bharat to become the world’s third-largest economy by 2027, while also urging industrialists to increase their investments in research and development (R&D). The Union Minister made these remarks during his address at the 118th Annual Conference of the PhDCCI, which took place at Vigyan Bhawan.
“The success of the G20 summit, the accomplishments of the Chandrayaan-3 mission, and the progress on the Aditya L-1 mission have injected fresh energy into the nation as India celebrates 75 years of independence. Throughout this journey, the nation has reaped numerous benefits, and the foundations of democracy in our country have grown deeper.”
In 2014, Bharat was ranked 11th in terms of its economy. Today, our country has risen to become the fifth-largest economy globally. We have full confidence that India will ascend to the position of the third-largest economic power in the world by 2027. The Modi government’s efforts to strengthen the economy have been substantial, resulting in a notable increase in Bharat’s GDP of 3.75 trillion. In April, the country collected 1.87 lakh crore rupees in GST revenue. Amit Shah also noted that the projected GST figures for the fiscal year 2023–24 stand at an impressive 69 lakh crore rupees.
