Imphal: In response to reports of Unidentified Flying Objects (UFO) sightings near the Imphal airport, the Indian Air Force swiftly deployed two Rafale fighter jets on Sunday to search for them.
The UFO sighting occurred around 2:30 p.m, leading to disruptions on several commercial flights. According to defence sources, upon receiving information about the UFO, a Rafale fighter aircraft from a nearby airbase was immediately scrambled to conduct a search.
Equipped with advanced sensors, the first aircraft performed low-level flying over the suspected area but found no evidence of the UFO. Later, a second Rafale fighter was dispatched for further investigation, yet the elusive object remained absent from the vicinity.
While videos of the UFO over Imphal airport have surfaced, authorities are working diligently to gather details about the mysterious aerial sightings. Following the clearance of Imphal airport for regular operations, the Eastern Command of the Indian Air Force, headquartered in Shillong, confirmed the activation of its Air Defence response mechanism, although specific details of the measures taken were not disclosed.
