Thiruvananthapuram: ‘A Day at Sea’ programme was conducted at Vizhinjam today (17 Feb 2024) by the Coast Guard Station, Vizhinjam on the occasion of 48th Coast Guard Raising Day.
Senior Officials of the Kerala Government, Indian Army, Indian Air force, Indian Coast Guard and their families and Media personnel attended the event as official guests. Commandant G Sreekumar, Station Commander , Coast Guard Station Vizhinjam elaborated the activities and operations carried out by the Coast Guard.
Five Coast Guard ships – Anagh, Aryaman, Urja Shrota, C-427 and C-441 and an Advanced Light Helicopter (ALH) took in this event. Demonstrations of firing and rescue operations, including the use of the 4060 Bofors Gun and Motor Gun, were conducted at sea, captivating both personnel and media persons alike. Approximately 300 personnel participated in two sessions on five Coast Guard Ships at Vizhinjam during the event.
Two Coast Guard ships, Aryaman and Urja Shrota and ALH came from Kochi for this exercise.
