New Delhi: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has approved a proposal aimed at increasing the vacancies in the National Cadet Corps (NCC) by three lakh. The NCC asserts that expanding cadet opportunities will prove beneficial for educational institutions nationwide.
Since its inception in 1948 with 20,000 cadets, the NCC has grown substantially, now having 20 lakh cadets across the country. This expansion marks a significant stride towards a brighter future for the nation, according to NCC officials. They also aimed to swiftly implement the initiative in all states.
Additionally, plans are underway to appoint ex-servicemen as NCC instructors, allowing them to impart their invaluable experiences and knowledge to young cadets, thereby inspiring them. The NCC’s goals include nurturing youth for nation-building, instilling discipline, and fostering a sense of duty towards serving the nation.
