Thiruvananthapuram: Renowned filmmaker Blessy’s upcoming film, ‘Aadujeevitham,’ also known as ‘The Goat Life,’ has encountered a setback as it has been banned in Gulf countries. The film has obtained permission to screen in limited theatres only in the UAE. The screenings in the UAE will commence from noon onward. Despite being dubbed in various Indian languages, only the Malayalam version of the film will be screened in UAE cinemas.
The film ‘Aadujeevitham’ narrates the survival story of Najeeb, who comes to Saudi Arabia for work and becomes stranded in the desert. Featuring acclaimed actor Prithviraj in the lead role, the movie is slated to hit theaters on the 28th of this month.
The novel ‘Aadujeevitham,’ penned by Benyamin, was published in 2008, inspired by the experiences recounted by Najeeb during his time as an expatriate in Bahrain. Though the novel was translated into multiple languages, including in English, it has faced a ban in Gulf countries. The narrative follows Najeeb’s ordeal after being deceived into herding goats in the desert, shedding light on the harsh realities he endures.
