Chennai: Actor Dulquer Salmaan has withdrawn from the highly anticipated film ‘Thug Life’, directed by legendary filmmaker Mani Ratnam and starring Kamal Haasan in a pivotal role. The news came as a disappointment to many fans eagerly awaiting the collaboration between Mani Ratnam and Dulquer Salmaan.
While there has been no official confirmation regarding Dulquer Salmaan’s departure, reports suggest that the actor’s busy schedule, juggling multiple film projects, might be the reason behind his exit from ‘Thug Life’. Dulquer Salmaan was slated to portray the character of a district collector in the film.
However, filling in Dulquer Salmaan’s space is actor Silamabarasan, whose latest project includes ‘STR 48’, set to commence shooting in June. Despite the absence of official announcements, reports indicate that Silambarasan has already joined the cast of the film ‘Thug Life’, and his on-set pictures with Kamal Haasan have been circulating on social media platforms, generating buzz among fans.
‘Thug Life’ boasts a stellar ensemble cast, including Jayam Ravi, Trisha, Gautham Karthik, Aishwarya Lakshmi, and Joju George in lead roles, alongside the iconic Kamal Haasan. This film marks the reuniting of actor Kamal Haasan and Mani Ratnam after their acclaimed collaboration in ‘Naayagan’.
Produced by Rajkamal Films International, Madras Talkies, Red Giant Movies, R. Mahendran, and Siva Ananth, ‘Thug Life’ also marks the reunion of Mani Ratnam with renowned music director AR Rahman and editor Sreekar Prasad, promising an intriguing cinematic experience for audiences.
