Chennai: The Tamil film industry is mourning the loss of renowned actor Daniel Balaji, aged 48, who passed away due to heart attack at a private hospital in Chennai last night. The actor was reportedly rushed to a private hospital in Kottivakam, Chennai, after experiencing chest pain, but tragically succumbed to his condition. The funeral rites for the beloved actor will be conducted at his residence in Purasawalkam.
Born in 1975, Daniel Balaji, also known as TC Balaji, made his debut in the entertainment industry through the popular Tamil serial ‘Chithi’. He ventured into the world of cinema as a unit production manager for Kamal Haasan’s yet-to-be-released film ‘Marudhanayagam’.
In 2002, Balaji embarked on his acting career with the Tamil film ‘April Maadhathil’. He went on to portray memorable characters in various films, including Kamal Haasan’s ‘Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu’, Suriya’s ‘Kaakha Kaakha’, and Dhanush’s ‘Vada Chennai’. Additionally, he made notable appearances in Malayalam cinema, featuring in films like ‘Black’, ‘Bhagavan’ starring Mohanlal, and ‘Daddy Cool’ starring Mammootty.
His last movie was ‘Ariyavan’ in Tamil which was released in theatres last year.
