Thiruvananthapuram: Excitement is brewing among fans as the much-anticipated film ‘Kalki 2898 AD’, starring Prabhas, is set to hit theatres soon. Following the massive success of ‘Baahubali’, Prabhas has become a pan-Indian star, and his fans eagerly await each of his projects. The film, directed by Nag Ashwin and based on Indian mythology, has been garnering attention since its announcement.
The latest reports reveal that the theatrical rights for the Hindi version have been sold for a whopping Rs. 110 crore. Trade experts and filmmakers estimate that the theatrical rights of ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ in the two Telugu-speaking states could fetch around Rs. 200 Crore or more. Reportedly, the makers are seeking a minimum of Rs. 100 Crore for the overseas market rights. Additionally, by selling rights in other regions such as Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, and Kerala, the producers aim to reach a staggering Rs. 500 Crore in total. The film is scheduled for release on May 9th.
Joining Prabhas in the lead cast is Deepika Padukone as the heroine, along with Disha Patani and Tamil star Pasupathy. Notably, the film boasts a star-studded ensemble, including veterans like Kamal Haasan and Amitabh Bachchan in pivotal roles, adding further anticipation to the project.
With Santhosh Narayanan, known for his hit compositions in Tamil cinema, handling the music, ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ is expected to deliver an immersive audiovisual treat for audiences.
