Thiruvananthapuram: Doordarshan has officially revealed the telecast date of Sudipto Sen’s much-anticipated film, ‘The Kerala Story’. The movie is set to be telecast today at 8 p.m. Doordarshan made this announcement through their social media platform with the caption, ‘The story of Kerala that shook the world is in front of you’.
The film has been surrounded by controversy since the release of its trailer. Despite its delayed release on OTT platforms, ‘The Kerala Story’ has garnered significant attention post its theatrical release. This pan-Indian production delves into the life stories of young women who were converted to Islam. With a production budget of less than Rs 40 crore, the film has amassed over Rs. 300 crore in box-office globally.
Starring Adah Sharma, Yogita Bihani, and Siddhi Idnani in lead roles, ‘The Kerala Story’ promises a captivating narrative.
Meanwhile, the team behind the film ‘The Kerala Story’ is already gearing up for their next project. The teaser for their latest venture, ‘Bastar: The Naxal Story’, based on a true incident, has also been unveiled. This movie marks the reunion of Vipul Amrutlal Shah and Sudipto Sen after ‘The Kerala Story’. Scheduled for release in theatres later this year, ‘Bastar’ is poised to offer another gripping cinematic experience.
