Thiruvananthapuram: 2 Malayalam movies compete in the 23rd international film fare section. 12 Malayalam films had been short listed for the Malayalam movie section. Sudani from Nigeria directed by Sacria, Lijo Pellisherry’s Ee Ma Yau are those in the competition. The fare will go on from Dec 7th – 13th.
Earlier the decision was to cancel the fare due to the unfortunate events of flood in Kerala. The protest demanded the fare to be conducted, so eventually with a lower budget the fare is to be organised.
3 crore is the budget. Representation fees has raised to Rs.3000/-. Delegates will not have any free pass this year, only the guest will be eligible for free pass. the organizers expect income of up to 2 crore from the lift of delegate pass. Comprehensive Contribution Award has been omitted this year.
Oath, Parava, Bhayaanakam, Udalaazham, Mayanadhi, Builathikuzhal, Prathibhasam, Eeda, Kottayam, Humans of Someone, sleeplessly yours, Ave maria are the films which will be played as a part of the Malayalam movies.
To reduce the expense no volunteers will be paid this time. No volunteers will be forced or demanded to work as they will not be paid.
