Ernakulam: Actor Baburaj recently revealed that AMMA organisation possess a compiled list of drug users in Malayalam film industry. General Secretary of the organisation, Edavela Babu comes out and denies the statement. He said that he does not possess such a list and the issue was not even discussed in any AMMA meetings either, but he did add that it is an open secret in the industry on which all actors are under the use of drugs.
Edavela Babu says that the organisation will abide with any action taken by the State Government. Also said that AMMA already has an established by-law which states that no actors should be under the influence of drugs while filming or at any film locations and no sort of misbehaviour in public spaces should be entertained. Every new applicant who will be given membership in the organisation would undergo strict inspection on the use of drugs.
Producer’s association decides to take severe actions against actors who are known for using drugs. The association said a list will be made after collecting information of actors who have caused trouble at sets by using drugs; members will be made aware that casting of these actors and any actions they do will be the sole responsibility of that producer.
