Washington: Tenoch Huerta, the Mexican actor known for his role in the Marvel film “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,” has strongly denied the sexual allegations made against him by saxophonist and activist María Elena Rios, a survivor of an acid attack.
Rios had distanced herself from Poder Prieto, an organisation that fights against racism in Mexico, of which Huerta is a member. She alleged that Huerta is a “violent and sexual predator” and claimed that the organisation pursued her to avoid scandals related to their Marvel film.
In response, Huerta released a statement on Monday, dismissing Rios’ claims as “irresponsible” and “completely unsubstantiated.” He stated that he had been in a consensual relationship with Rios for several months. Huerta also mentioned that he is working with a legal team to take appropriate action to protect his reputation.
Expressing gratitude to his family and supporters, Huerta thanked those who are willing to examine the facts and refrain from rushing to false and unjust conclusions.
Reports indicate that Marvel has not yet confirmed whether Huerta will reprise his character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe following his appearance in “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.”
