New Delhi : Netflix, the global streaming giant, has recently made a significant update to its policy in India. According to reports, the sharing of passwords among different households will no longer be permitted. The company now requires that each Netflix account be restricted to use within a single household only. To enforce this new policy, Netflix has started sending emails to its members in India who have been sharing their accounts outside of their households.
Recognising the vast array of entertainment options available to its members, Netflix reaffirms its commitment to cater to diverse preferences. This commitment is evident in the company’s substantial investment in a wide variety of new films and TV shows.
While the new policy aims to discourage unauthorised account sharing, Netflix continues to expand its content library to cater to the diverse tastes of its subscribers. The streaming giant remains focused on providing an extensive collection of shows and movies to keep audiences engaged and entertained.
For all countries, including India, where paid sharing is not yet implemented, Netflix is taking an alternative approach. Users who wish to continue sharing their passwords with other households will have the option to do so but will be required to pay an additional fee for the privilege.
