“Bhaskar the Rascal,” a family-oriented film headlined by Mammootty and Nayanthara, was helmed by director Siddique. The role of the antagonist was portrayed by Telugu actor JD Chakravarthy. However, before finalizing JD Chakravarthy for the antagonist’s role, director Siddique initially considered another prominent Malayalam star for the part. A resurfaced video of Siddique discussing its casting decision has garnered significant attention on social media platforms.
In the revealing video, director Siddique discloses that his initial choice for the villainous role was the Malayalam actor Jayaram. The film’s production which was centered in Kochi, had the process of casting the character portraying the heroine’s estranged husband proved to be challenging. They thought of changing the Mafia concept and it would be better to make into a family drama. Siddique also revealed that he conceived a notion wherein Jayaram would play the character of Nayanthara’s ex-husband. Later on they would fall apart due to some reason and come back into the heroine’s life.
However, when Siddique proposed this idea to Jayaram, the actor was not willing to proceed with it. As a result, the storyline reverted back to its original mafia theme. Siddique stated that if that idea had been implemented, the film would have taken a different path.
