The irreplaceable legend Mammootty is celebrating 52 years in the acting profession. Today marks the birthday of actor Mammootty, who has reigned over Malayalam cinema for half a century. Even superstars have openly admitted their envy of the actor, who, at the age of 72, maintains a remarkable blend of ageless grace and enduring youthfulness. With this year’s 53rd Kerala State Film Award, Mammootty has not only achieved another milestone but has also secured the Best Actor award more times than anyone else in the industry. He has earned a remarkable total of six state awards for best actor, three national awards for best actor, and numerous filmfare awards. Even to this day, Mammootty approaches each film with the same enthusiasm as a newcomer, showcasing a passion for cinema that remains unwavering.

In Sathyan Master’s final film, ‘Anubhvangal Palichakal,’ he made a brief appearance in a short scene lasting only a few minutes. On August 6, 1971, when KS Sethumadhavan entered the world of Malayalam cinema with his debut film, no one could have foreseen that he would ascend to become one of the greatest actors in Malayalam cinema and a unique talent in all of India. However, his insatiable passion for cinema turned him into an indispensable pillar of the Malayalam film industry. There is no other actor who has been as successful as Mammootty in consistently showcasing his acting prowess. That great actor of the Malayalees continues to stand tall as the prince of the seasons. Over time, Mammootty has graced the screens in over 400 films across Malayalam, Tamil, Kannada, Telugu, Hindi, and even English. On the occasion of his birthday, numerous charitable initiatives have been undertaken in Mammootty’s honor.

Today, in celebration of Mammootty’s birthday, the Mammootty Fans and Welfare Association International is orchestrating a blood donation drive, aiming to collect a quarter lakh units of blood. The specially opened blood bank for this initiative has garnered immense public support for blood donation. The Angamaly Blood Bank also offers blood donation services to the general public.
