Chennai: Acclaimed art director Milan Fernandez, known for his work in numerous Tamil films, passed away . Milan was actively engaged in the production of Ajith’s upcoming film, “Vidaamuyarchi,” when he suddenly fell ill on set in Azerbaijan.
According to film trade analyst Manobala Vijayabalan, Milan Fernandez, who had contributed his artistic vision to several of Ajith’s previous projects, experienced discomfort while preparing for the shoot. The production team quickly rushed him to a nearby hospital, where he tragically succumbed to a massive heart attack.
The incident occurred as Milan gathered his team for work, but he soon complained of uneasiness and excessive sweating. Despite immediate efforts to transport him to the hospital, Milan passed away before reaching medical assistance.
Milan Fernandez was an integral part of Ajith’s latest venture, “Vidaamuyarchi,” directed by Magizh Thirumeni and produced by Lyca Productions. The shoot had commenced earlier this month.
Expressing grief, the official X account of Lyca Productions shared their condolences, stating,

Milan Fernandez, with a career spanning decades, contributed his artistic expertise to various Tamil films, including notable projects like “Billa,” “Velayudham,” “Veeram,” “Vettaikaaran,” “Thunivu,” “Endrendrum Punnagai,” “Vedalam,” “Annaatthe,” and “Pathu Thala,” among others. He leaves behind his wife, who is currently in Chennai, and his son.
