Kochi: The film set constructed in Perumbavoor for the shooting of the upcoming Prithviraj-starrer “Guruvayoor Ambalanadayil” has been demolished following a directive from the municipal council. The set, depicting the Guruvayur temple and auditorium, faced demolition as it was built without proper permissions in a paddy field converted into a land area. Approximately 60 workers had been engaged in the construction for a month.
The movie set was under construction in a private individual’s location in the 12th ward at Pallikkara, Perumbavoor. Local residents raised concerns about the unauthorised construction in the area, prompting them to file a complaint with the municipality. Following an inspection, the municipality halted the construction and issued a memo ordering the demolition of the set.
Biju John Jacob, the Municipal Corporation Chairman, revealed that the land where the set was erected still retains its original status, and the owner had not obtained any necessary permissions for the construction. “Guruvayoor Ambalanadayil” is a film that is produced by Prithviraj Productions, features Prithviraj and Basil Joseph in lead roles, and is directed by Vipin Das.
