Chennai: Actor Mansoor Ali Khan has addressed the media in response to the National Commission for Women’s voluntary case against him for alleged anti-women remarks. Despite the assurance of legal action, Mansoor has not indicated that he is willing to say apologise for his remarks. In this situation, he has decided to talk to the media.

The Nadigar Sangam, an organisation of film stars, criticised him in a statement without asking for his explanation. Mansoor Ali Khan also said he would take legal action if they didn’t take back the statement within four hours.
In the aftermath of the controversy, Mansoor Ali Khan defended his remarks, stating that he made the comment in a jocular manner. He emphasised that he has worked alongside numerous leading heroines who are well aware of his nature. Mansoor clarified that he meant his comments as a joke during the interview and emphasized that he won’t be influenced by current threats.
Taking voluntary cognizance of the matter, the National Commission for Women directed the Director General of Police (DGP) to initiate legal action. Condemning Mansoor Ali Khan’s remarks, the commission expressed concern that such comments trivialise violence against women. Actress and National Commission for Women member Khushbu strongly criticised Ali Khan, assuring that the commission would take strong action in the matter.
The entire film industry came forward in support of actress Trisha, with director Lokesh Kanagaraj being among the first to voice his support. A group of actresses, along with celebrities like Malavika and singer Chinmayi, also expressed their solidarity with Trisha.
