Thiruvananthapuram: Renowned filmmaker Jude Antony Joseph is set to bring another gripping tale to the silver screen. Following his work, 2018 Everyone is a hero, Jude Antony is directing a film in the adventure-investigative thriller genre, delving into the true story of the MV Kairali, a cargo ship that mysteriously disappeared from Kerala in the 1970s.
The screenplay for this project is being written by investigative journalist Josy Joseph . Josy mentioned that the initial phases of the film, which revolve around the disappearance of MV Kairali, are already underway.
The MV Kairali, a cargo vessel owned by the Kerala Shipping Corporation, set sail from Goa in 1979, destined for Germany via Djibouti, carrying 20,000 tonnes of iron ore and a crew of 49 members, including the captain. However, the ship went missing, and subsequent investigations failed to unravel the mystery.
The film will unveil the untold story of MV Kairali’s disappearance and the unsuccessful attempts to solve the mystery. Scheduled for release by the end of 2024, the movie promises to be a captivating blend of adventure and investigative thriller.
Jude Antony Joseph is presently in Los Angeles to promote his 2018 Everyone is a hero Oscar-nominated film. The movie is being showcased, including special previews for members of the Oscar Academy.
