Thiruvananthapuram: Malayalam cinema enthusiasts have much to look forward to as Mammootty’s iconic character Bilal John Kurishingal from the 2007 action – thriller “Big B” is set to make a grand return to the theaters. Directed by Amal Neerad, the film is etched in the memories of fans for Mammootty’s compelling portrayal of the character.
Excitement surged when reports of a second part of the film began circulating. However, the latest revelation adds an extra layer of anticipation as “Big B” is scheduled for a re-release in theaters, and this time, it will be presented in 4K visuals. Mammootty’s PRO, Robert Kuriakose, shared this exciting news on social media, stating that the 4K version will grace theatres in 2024, followed by an OTT release.
Fans are buzzing with speculation, wondering if this re-release is a prelude to the much-awaited second part of the film. The sequel was initially announced in 2017, but there were no subsequent updates. Recent industry chatter suggested that the shooting might commence soon, with Mammootty adjusting his schedule to accommodate the project.
