Thiruvananthapuram: The anticipation for the 96th Oscars is building as the final shortlist has been unveiled. Malayalam film ‘2018’ and the Bollywood film “12th Fail” couldn’t secure a spot in the short list. However, there’s a gleam of achievement for Bharat, as the Bharat-based documentary film “To Kill a Tiger” has earned a nomination in the Best Documentary Feature Film category. Directed by Delhi-born Nisha Pahuja, currently residing in Toronto, ‘To Kill a Tiger’ previously claimed the Amplify Voices Award for Best Canadian Feature Film at the 2022 Toronto International Film Festival.
Meanwhile, Christopher Nolan’s “Oppenheimer” has taken centre stage by securing the top spot on the shortlist in 13 categories, including Best Film, Best director, Actor, and Actress. As the Oscars draw near, film enthusiasts await the grand event, eager to see which cinematic gems will take home the prestigious awards.
