Thiruvananthapuram: Renowned actor Mammootty is set to embark on a unique cinematic venture that takes him back three decades, using artificial intelligence (AI) technology. The revelation comes from director and screenwriter B. Unnikrishnan, who shared insights about the upcoming film during a program at the Neo Film School in Kochi.
Though the film’s specific details are not revealed, Unnikrishnan suggested that AI technology will be used for Mammootty’s role. The experienced actor will appear in about four scenes, recreating a setting similar to movie shoots from 30 to 40 years ago.
Unnikrishnan highlighted the controlled advancements in AI technology and its influence on the film industry. He unveiled that Mammootty’s role would be entirely created using AI, eliminating the need for the actor to be physically present on location. The decision to adopt this innovative approach was made collaboratively by the production company, with Mammootty giving his consent to adapt to the changing times.
Mammootty agreed to the idea of making his character in the film using AI technology, and the production company got his permission for this new approach. Mammootty will be created digitally without being present in the film locations. Both the production company and the director, B. Unnikrishnan, decided to move forward with this change, and Mammootty accepted it, adapting to the changing times.
