Thiruvananthapuram: Months after its theatrical release, the film “The Kerala Story” is set to stream on a major OTT platform next week. The eagerly anticipated film is scheduled to begin its streaming on Zee 5 on February 16. Directed by Sudipto Sen, the movie screened in theatres last year and emerged as one of the highest-grossing films of 2023. With a global box office earnings of Rs. 303.97 crore , the film secured the ninth position among the highest-grossing Hindi films of 2023.
Featuring Adah Sharma, Yogita Bihani, and Siddhi Idnani in pivotal roles, “The Kerala Story” initially hit theatres in May last year, alongside Jude Anthony Joseph’s film “2018,” which later became Bharat’s official entry to the Oscars.
Despite receiving appreciation for their work and storytelling, the films couldn’t manage to secure a place on the shortlist in the final race for the Oscars. However, the documentary film “To Kill a Tiger,” a Bharat-based documentary film, has secured a nomination in the Best Documentary Feature Film category.
Directed by Delhi-born Nisha Pahuja, who currently resides in Toronto, “To Kill a Tiger” had previously been honored with the Amplify Voices Award for Best Canadian Feature Film at the 2022 Toronto International Film Festival.
