London: ‘Oppenheimer’ secured seven awards in the prestigious 77th BAFTA Film Awards, and the film ‘Poor Things’ clinched five awards. The award function was held at the Royal Festival Hall in London.
With 13 nominations, ‘Oppenheimer’ dominated several categories, claiming victories in cinematography, editing, and more. Director Christopher Nolan was honoured with the Best Director Award, while Cillian Murphy and Robert Downey Jr. secured the Best Actor and Best Supporting Actor awards, respectively. Meanwhile, ‘Poor Things’ actress Emma Stone won the Best Actress Award.
Indian actress Deepika Padukone was also an attendee at the award function. She captivated viewers as she took to the stage to present an award to Jonathan Glazer. She was adorned in a stunning Sabyasachi saree, garnering admiration for her elegance and style at the BAFTA Awards night.
The movie ‘Barbie’, a contender against ‘Oppenheimer’ in various categories and award events, left empty-handed at the BAFTA Film Awards 2024.
