Chennai: Reports suggest that Dulquer Salmaan is set to take on the lead role in a film directed by actor Vijay’s son, Jason Sanjay, marking his directorial debut. The shooting of the movie is expected to begin soon.
Earlier, Jason was considering a young actor with a passion for cars for the lead role. However, it seems Dulquer Salmaan has been finalised for the part.
Further reports indicate that the film’s pooja ceremony took place in Chennai. Music composer Yuvan Shankar Raja will be scoring the music for the film, which is being produced by Lyca Productions.
Pre-production work for the film is currently underway, with Dulquer Salmaan reportedly participating in the process. Jason Sanjay is said to be in the final stages of scripting, and it has been revealed that director Shankar’s daughter, Aditi Shankar, will play the female lead in the film.
Initially, it was reported that actor Vijay would not be featured in his son’s debut film. However, there were subsequent rumours suggesting that Dhruv Vikram might take on the lead role. The casting details are yet to be confirmed officially.
In the midst of his busy schedule, Dulquer Salmaan is busy with his forthcoming Tamil action drama, ‘Thug Life.’ Directed by Mani Ratnam and co-written by Kamal Haasan, the film is being produced by Raaj Kamal Films International, Madras Talkies, and Red Giant Movies. Alongside Dulquer Salmaan, the star-studded cast includes Haasan, Jayam Ravi, Trisha, Abhirami, Nassar, Gautham Karthik, Joju George, and Aishwarya Lekshmi in pivotal roles.
