Thalapathy Vijay and director Venkat Prabhu unite for the actor’s next film

The debates and speculations regarding the director of next film of Tamil actor Vijay were doing the rounds on social media for a while. Now it has been officially confirmed by the makers and the actor himself, Vijay’s next flick, which is tentatively titled “Thalapathy 68,” will be directed by Venkat Prabhu, who will be collaborating with the actor for the first time.

The official announcement came on May 21, 2023, with a video clip shared from the social handles of the actor and makers. As per reports, the film is rumoured to release in the summer of 2024. The movie is going to be produced by AGS Entertainment, which previously worked with Vijay in the 2019 movie Bigil. This will be the company’s 25th production and their biggest film to date.

The film’s music is set to be composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja, who is joining Vijay after 20 years. Their previous collaboration was in the 2003 Tamil film, Pudhiya Geethai.

The complete cast and crew of the film are yet to be announced.

Thalapathy Vijay is currently undergoing shooting for his next release, Leo, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, which is expected to release on October 19, 2023. Leo has an ensemble cast of actors like Trisha, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun, Gautham Menon, and many more. The film is said to be a gangster action thriller.

Director Venkat Prabhu recently released the Tamil-Telugu bilingual film Custody, with actor Naga Chaitanya in the lead role.
