People still remember ‘Shaktiman’ the character played by actor Mukhesh Khanna decades ago. It was a popular TV serial in India. Last year, there were reports that the Shaktiman movie was in the works, with Sony Pictures also releasing a teaser. Now Mukesh Khanna has clarified that the shooting of the film will restart even though it has been stopped during COVID pandemic time.
“The contract has been signed. It’s a big-budget film. One film would cost Rs. 200–300 crore, and it will be made by Sony Pictures, the one who made Spider-Man”, Mukhesh Khanna said on his Youtube channel. Last year, there were reports that Ranveer Singh would play the character of Shaktiman in the film, but Khanna didn’t give any clarification on that.
He also added, “I recently told someone that this is not a small film; it is a massive film, and that takes time. A lot of things are happening. But I am not allowed to talk. I can’t reveal who will play the role of Shaktiman. But it is a commercial film, so it involves a lot of commercial talks”. He also updated his fans that he will be in the film but cannot make any appearance in Shaktiman’s get-up now as the makers of the movie don’t want any comparison.
Shaktiman was the most loved TV show on Doordarshan after Mahabharata and Ramayana and was a very popular series among children. The show started airing 26 years ago, in 1997.
