Rajinikanth’s latest film, “Jailer,” is making waves on the global stage with a remarkable reception. The movie has raked in an impressive ₹152.02 crore within just two days of its release. Its performance suggests that “Jailer” is poised to achieve the status of a blockbuster in Tamil Nadu, having garnered a substantial ₹15 crores in collections.
The opening day saw “Jailer” amass a staggering ₹95.78 crores, followed by an additional ₹56.24 crores on the subsequent day. Notably, in 2023, the film already claimed the distinction of having the highest opening day collection in Tamil Nadu, boasting a robust ₹29.46 crores in earnings.
Early reports indicate that the Rajinikanth-led production is poised to shatter existing collection records. “Jailer” premiered across more than 300 theatres in Kerala. Rajini portrays the character of ‘Tiger’ Muthuvel Pandiyan, directed by Nelson. The film is backed by Kalanidhi Maran’s production house, Sun Pictures. Remarkably, this marks Rajinikanth’s 169th cinematic endeavour. The inclusion of a cameo role by Mohanlal has garnered considerable attention as the acclaimed actor takes on the role of Matthew.
