Chennai: Chennaiyin FC, one of the prominent teams in the Indian Super League (ISL), has announced the signing of Mumbai-born winger Farukh Choudhary ahead of the upcoming 2023-24 season. The 26-year-old becomes the seventh addition to the squad, bringing a wealth of experience from his previous stints with various ISL clubs.

Having represented three different Indian Super League outfits in his career, Farukh Choudhary most recently played for Jamshedpur FC, where he spent five seasons. With this move to Chennaiyin FC, he aims to contribute significantly to the team’s success and help them reach new heights.

Choudhary’s talent and contributions on the field have earned him recognition at the national level as well. He was a member of the senior national team that triumphed in the SAFF Championship in 2021, and he was part of the squad that finished as runners-up in the 2018 edition. With 14 international appearances to his name, Choudhary’s skills and versatility have impressed both domestic and international audiences.

Expressing his delight at joining Chennaiyin FC, Choudhary acknowledged the passionate fanbase of the club and his commitment to giving his all on the field. He is determined to contribute to the team’s success and believes that their collective efforts will yield outstanding results. The winger also has an international goal to his credit, having scored against Nepal during a friendly match in 2021.

Choudhary made his ISL debut with Kerala Blasters FC at the age of 20 in 2016, and since then, he has accumulated valuable experience in the league. In 76 matches, he has showcased his skills, registering three goals and six assists. Notably, he was part of Mumbai City FC’s ISL-winning campaign in 2021, adding another significant achievement to his career.

The acquisition of Farukh Choudhary strengthens Chennaiyin FC’s squad as they prepare for the forthcoming season. The club’s management and fans have high expectations for the winger, and his presence on the field will undoubtedly add an attacking dimension to their gameplay.

With the new signing, Chennaiyin FC aims to build a formidable team that can compete for the ISL title. As the 2023-24 season approaches, the club’s supporters eagerly anticipate Choudhary’s contributions and hope that his inclusion will further enhance the team’s prospects.
