The three-time national award winner Mammootty turns a 68 today. It’s a celebration time for M-Town and especially all the fans who look up to him as an elegant actor.
Mammootty, fondly called as Mammooka has appeared in more than 400 films predominantly in Malayalam and aslo in Tamil, Telugu. Kannada, and Hindi. His major breakthrough came with the commercial success of the 1987 film ‘New Delhi’.
He received several accolades including, three National Film Awards for Best Actor, seven Kerala State Film Awards, and thirteen Filmfare Awards South. The Government of India awarded him the fourth highest civilian award Padma Shri for his contributions to the arts.
Mammootty fans gathered outside his Kochi home late Friday night to wish the Megastar on his birthday and the actor came out to greet his fans and distributed slices of cake. The M-town has filled the social media with birthday wishes for the star.
Mammootty is currently working on magnum opus ‘Mamangam’ a historical drama genre. It is said to be on of Malayalam’s most expensive films and will release in multiple languages.
