New Delhi: Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare, Mansukh Mandaviya, inaugurated the AYUSH-ICMR Advanced Centre for Integrated Health Research at AIIMS today. Alongside, he unveiled significant joint initiatives between the Health Ministry and the Ministry of AYUSH, including a multicenter clinical trial on anaemia and the introduction of Indian Public Health Standards (IPHS) for AYUSH healthcare facilities.
In addition, Minister Mandaviya presided over the 27th convocation of Rashtriya Ayurveda Vidyapeeth and the 29th National Seminar on ‘Ayurvedo Amritanam’. Expressing enthusiasm for these collaborative efforts, he emphasised the importance of merging traditional knowledge with modern scientific research to enhance healthcare synergies.
Highlighting the government’s integrative approach, Mandaviya underscored the significance of bridging Ayurveda with modern medical science to pioneer holistic healthcare innovations. He commended the Ministry of AYUSH for its decade-long journey, urging students to draw inspiration from ancient scriptures and embrace traditional practices with pride.
Integrative Medicine (IM) integrates conventional and complementary/alternative medicine therapies to promote holistic health, addressing individual needs comprehensively. It aims to overcome healing barriers and empower patients to take charge of their physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual well-being.
