New Delhi: An Army Officer posted with the India contingent in the united Nations Peacekeeping Mission in the Democratic Republic of Congo has gone missing.
Army sources on Thursday said that Lt Col Gaurav Solanki has been missing since Saturday afternoon after he went kayaking in Lake Kivu.
Speed boats and employment of helicopter are being made in the search operations to rescue the officer.
In the last 57 years, over ninety-thousand Indian soldiers have served in various parts of the world, covering 43 UN Missions as part of UN peacekeeping operations.
