Pathanamthitta : Singapore corporate tries to snatch the patent on “Aravana”. The believers are engaged with the concerns of Sabarimala young women admission, taking advantage of the situation corporate giant furtively applies for the patent of Aravana to make ‘Aravana’ as trademark of its food subsidiaries. Kuok Oils & Grains Trading (P) Ltd, a Singapore based agribusiness company, had filed an application in Trademarks Registry at Kolkata.
The situation should not be taken lightly however the TDB and the Government pretends to be in the dark.
The corporate had an eye on the income of the hill shrine for the past couple of years as the reports says that, the company had attempted to get the name as its trademark, back in 2007 as well. If the company won the patent of Aravana, TDB has to pay the company even for using the name. On an average every darshan season the Aravana and other prashad only pile up a revenue 100 crores.
Kshatriya Kshemasabha had complained in the tribunal at Kolkata against the corporate.
