London: According to media reports, on the first day of the WTC final in Oval stadium, Indian pace bowlers Muhammad Siraj and Umesh Yadav bowled four maiden overs and got a wicket each. Muhammad Shami bowled 20 overs with three maiden overs and a wicket and Shardhul Thakur brought his two maiden overs and a wicket in his 18 overs in the first day.
Australia lost their first three wickets on the day one and the score was 76 runs in the 24th over. David Warner scored 43 runs from 60 balls, Marnus Labuschange scored 26 runs in 62 balls and Usman Khawaja stepped out of the field without scoring.
Steven Smith and Travis Head led Australia to a score of 327 runs in the first day; Steven Smith scored 95 runs from 277 balls, and Travis Head was the top scorer in the first day by hitting a massive 146 from 156 balls and they are still in the cress for the second day.
