Kannur train fire incident: Eyewitness identified the accused

Kannur: Eyewitness identified Kolkata native Prasonjit Sidgar, who was involved in the fire incident, in the executive coach of the Kannur-Alapuzha Express. BPCL security staff identified the accused during the identification parade held at Kannur Special Sub Jail yesterday.

The identification parade was in front of Mattannur First Class Magistrate. The parade started at 2.30 p.m. and lasted for an hour. According to police records, the BPCL security staff is the only eyewitness in this case. The incident happened last Thursday around 1.10 a.m. The accused will be taken into custody today for further evidence collection and questioning. Kannur ASP TK Rathnakumar will lead the investigation.
