The 35-year-old Argentine will leave Paris Saint-Germain FC (PSG) and join Inter Miami CF in America.
On Wednesday, Lionel Messi made the announcement that he would join Inter Miami CF in America.
After leaving Barcelona in 2021, Messi has played his last two seasons for Paris Saint-Germain F.C. He played his final game for the team on Sunday against Clermont Foot FC, and the result was a tie.
Messi also stated that he was thinking about returning to Barcelona, but the financial fair play rules in La Liga limited Barcelona’s options to buy Messi.
“I made the decision that I’m going to go to Miami”, Messi said in an interview with Mundo Deportivo and Sport newspapers.
“I still haven’t closed it 100%. I am still missing a few things, but we decided to go ahead. If Barcelona didn’t work out, I wanted to leave Europe, get out of the spotlight, and think more about my family”,
Messi, a seven-time Ballon d’Or winner, led his nation to victory at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar in December. In his two years with PSG, he also won the French Super Cup in 2022.
