Mumbai: Union Home Minister Amit Shah again clarified his stand against reservation based on religion. Addressing a public meeting at Maharashtra, Amit Shah said, “BJP believes that there should not be any reservation for Muslims and acceptable as it is against the Constitution. There cannot be reservations based on religion.”
Amit Shah also said that Uddhav Thackeray should answer the people whether such reservation is necessary in Maharashtra. He asked Uddhav Thackeray to clarify his stand on the removal of nationalist syllabus from Karnataka school education. Shah pointed out that Uddhav has to decide whether it is right to be allies with such a Congress party.
The BJP governments in the states in power are in the process of implementing the Uniform Civil Code. Later, he asked the Uddhav to clarify his opinion on triple talaq and the Union Civil Code. Amit Shah questioned whether Uddhav, who had forgotten his ideologies, was cheating his own party workers too.
