The new railway station will facilitate the marketing and trading of agricultural crops, and it will also aid in the transportation of spices from Idukki.
The introduction of this passenger train at Bodinayakkanur will greatly facilitate the journey of Sabarimala pilgrims from Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and those visiting pilgrimage centers such as Madurai, Velankanni, Rameswaram, Palani, and Tirupati from the Idukki district. Additionally, this route will provide convenient access to Theni Medical College.
