Barndendurg: Germany witnessed a thrilling display of golfing talent as Indian golfer Diksha Dagar secured a tied-third finish in the Amundi German Masters on the Ladies European Tour. While a second victory on the tour eluded her, this marked her third top-10 finish in her last four starts, highlighting her consistent and impressive form.
In the final round of the tournament, Diksha Dagar carded a steady 72, allowing her to share the third position with local German star Sophie Hausmann, both finishing with a total score of 11-under. The title ultimately went to Dubai-based Kristyna Napoleaova, who emerged victorious in a playoff against Cara Gainer after both players shot 71 in the final round, concluding with a total score of 14-under.
Diksha Dagar started the final round trailing Cara Gainer and Kristyna Napoleaova by two shots. Although she stumbled with a bogey on the first hole, she swiftly regained her rhythm, notching three birdies between the second and fifth holes and adding a fourth birdie later in the day. This strong performance propelled her into a shared lead after eight holes of the final day.
However, Diksha faced a challenging stretch as she encountered a series of bogeys from the ninth to the 11th hole, resulting in a drop from 14-under to 11-under. Despite her best efforts, she remained unable to make further gains or recover from those setbacks in the remaining seven holes. Ultimately, she finished the round with a score of 72, concluding the tournament three shots behind the playoff contenders, Cara Gainer and Kristyna Napoleaova.
While victory eluded her on this occasion, Diksha Dagar’s consistent performances in recent tournaments have solidified her standing among the top players on the Ladies European Tour. Her ability to contend with the best in the game and secure multiple top-10 finishes reflects her talent, determination, and growing reputation as a formidable golfer.
