Ranji Trophy groups and schedule are unveiled: Kerala and Mumbai in one group!

Mumbai: The anticipation for the upcoming Ranji Trophy season is building as the groups for the 2023-24 editions have been announced. Kerala, one of the top cricketing teams from the southern region of India, has been drawn alongside heavyweight Mumbai in Elite Group B. The tournament is scheduled to be played from January 5 to March 14 next year, showcasing the best domestic cricket talent from across the country.

The Elite Group B promises to be a fiercely competitive group, with Bengal, Andhra, Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh, Assam, and Bihar joining Kerala and Mumbai in the battle for supremacy. The group features a mix of experienced teams and rising talents, ensuring exciting cricketing encounters throughout the league stage.

The Ranji Trophy, India’s premier domestic cricket tournament, holds immense significance for players and fans alike. It provides a platform for emerging talents to showcase their skills and stake a claim for higher honours. The teams participating in this prestigious tournament represent their respective states and carry the aspirations of their passionate supporters.

The Ranji Trophy 2023-24 season will follow a comprehensive schedule, divided into multiple stages. The Elite League Stage is set to commence on January 5 and run until February 19, 2024. During this period, teams will battle it out in a round-robin format, seeking to secure their place in the knockout stage.

In addition to the Elite Group B, three other groups have been formed to accommodate the remaining teams. Group A features Saurashtra, Jharkhand, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Vidarbha, Haryana, and Manipur. Group C consists of Karnataka, Punjab, Railway, Tamil Nadu, Goa, Gujarat, Tripura, Assam, and Bihar. Lastly, Group D comprises Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Baroda, Delhi, Odisha, Pondicherry, and Jammu & Kashmir.

Furthermore, the Plate Group provides an opportunity for teams to compete for a place in the top-tier Elite groups. Nagaland, Hyderabad, Meghalaya, Sikkim, Mizoram, and Arunachal Pradesh will showcase their cricketing talents in this segment of the tournament.
