New Delhi – The Indian U-17 women’s football team is all set to embark on a crucial training camp in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, as they prepare for the upcoming AFC U-17 Women’s Asian Cup Qualifiers Round 2. Following their impressive performance in Round 1 held, in the Kyrgyz Republic in April, the young tigresses emerged as Group F winners, securing their spot in the next round.
Under the guidance of head coach Priya PV, a talented squad of 33 players will assemble at the Emerald Heights School in Indore, with the camp scheduled to commence on July 7. The AFC U-17 Women’s Asian Cup Qualifiers Round 2 is slated to take place in September, and Team India finds itself placed in Group A alongside Korea Republic, Thailand, and IR Iran.
India’s journey in Round 1 saw them display remarkable determination and skill, securing victories against the hosts, the Kyrgyz Republic, with a 1-0 scoreline, and Myanmar with a 2-1 win. These commendable performances propelled them to the top of their group, paving their way to the second round of qualifiers.
As the team gears up for Round 2, they face the challenging task of competing against formidable opponents. However, the young Indian squad is well prepared to take on the challenge head-on. Led by their coach, Priya PV, who brings a wealth of experience and expertise, the team is eager to showcase their talent and represent their country on the Asian stage.
