Melbourne – New Zealand’s U19 cricket team has earned their place in the highly anticipated ICC U19 Men’s Cricket World Cup 2024, becoming the latest nation to secure qualification for the tournament set to take place in Sri Lanka. Their exceptional performance in the East Asia-Pacific Qualifier, held in Australia, saw them finish unbeaten and claim the top spot among the participating teams.

Led by the talented Oscar Jackson, the New Zealand team displayed their dominance throughout the qualifiers, finishing at the top of the standings. Their unbeaten run showcased their formidable skills and determination on the cricket field. The squad’s success can be attributed to standout performances from players such as Zac Cumming, Alex Thomson, and top run-scorer Tom Jones, who amassed an impressive 283 runs during the qualifying campaign.

With New Zealand’s qualification, a total of 13 teams have now secured their spots for the ICC U19 Men’s Cricket World Cup 2024. This leaves just three spots up for grabs, which will be determined through the remaining Regional Qualifiers in Africa, Europe, and the Americas.
The upcoming tournament in Sri Lanka promises to be a thrilling event, with 16 teams vying for cricketing glory in a total of 41 matches. New Zealand will join Afghanistan, Australia, Bangladesh, England, India, Ireland, Nepal, Pakistan, South Africa, Sri Lanka, and the West Indies as the qualified teams, each bringing their own brand of cricketing excellence to the global stage.
