London – The Australian women’s cricket team, led by Alyssa Healy, is set to make history as they participate in their first-ever five-day Test match on English soil. The much-anticipated match, scheduled to take place from June 22 to 26 in Nottingham, will see Australia take on England in what promises to be a thrilling encounter.

Heading the Australian women’s squad is Captain Alyssa Healy, who will also manage wicket-keeping duties throughout the five-day Test. The team features a blend of experienced players and rising talents, with the likes of Beth Mooney, Ellyse Perry, Megan Schutt, and Ashleigh Gardner providing a solid foundation. Tahlia McGrath, named vice-captain, adds further depth to the squad, alongside Darcie Brown, Kim Garth, Grace Harris, Jess Jonassen, Alana King, Phoebe Litchfield, Annabel Sutherland, and Georgia Wareham.

A notable change in the batting order sees Alyssa Healy moving down to accommodate her wicket-keeping responsibilities, while young talent Phoebe Litchfield is anticipated to open alongside Beth Mooney. Litchfield, aged just 20 and making her Test debut, showcased her abilities in a three-day warm-up match against England A last week, scoring an impressive 68 runs. Another standout performer, Annabel Sutherland, notched up a brilliant century with 116 runs, further strengthening Australia’s batting lineup.

The inclusion of leg-spinners Phoebe Litchfield and Alana King in the squad presented the team management with a welcome selection dilemma. The spin duo adds variety and depth to the bowling attack, enhancing Australia’s chances of success in the Test match.

On the English side, Heather Knight will captain the home team, with Amy Jones taking up wicket-keeping duties. The English squad includes key players like Tammy Beaumont, Danni Wyatt, Nat Sciver, Katherine Brunt, Sophie Ecclestone, and Kate Cross, among others. Both teams are eager to showcase their skills and compete fiercely for victory in this historic encounter.
