Fatorda: FC Goa has made a significant addition to their squad with the official confirmation of the signing of Boris Singh, one of India’s most promising young talents. The 23-year-old wing-back has caught the attention of football enthusiasts over the past two seasons while representing Jamshedpur FC, playing a pivotal role in their triumphant ISL Shield-winning campaign in 2021-22.
This latest acquisition marks FC Goa’s fourth signing of the transfer window, following the arrivals of Indian internationals Rowling Borges, Sandesh Jhingan, and Udanta Singh. The club is clearly focused on strengthening their squad with a mix of experienced players and emerging talents.
Boris Singh’s journey to prominence began after his graduation from the AIFF Elite Academy and his selection for India’s squad in the FIFA U-17 World Cup held in 2017. He showcased his skills in two out of three group stage games for the national team. Following the tournament, he joined the Indian Arrows, where he made 31 appearances in the I-League over two seasons.
After a brief stint with ATK FC’s developmental team, Boris embarked on his Indian Super League (ISL) journey with ATK Mohun Bagan in the 2020-21 season. However, midway through the campaign, the dynamic wing-back moved to Jamshedpur FC, where he played a vital role in their successful pursuit of the coveted Hero ISL League Winners’ Shield in the subsequent year.
During the recently concluded 2022-23 season, Boris Singh showcased his attacking prowess by scoring four goals for the Men of Steel. Two of these goals came in a crucial Super Cup victory against ATK Mohun Bagan, securing Jamshedpur FC’s place in the semi-finals of the competition.
With the completion of this transfer, Boris Singh is ready to embark on a new chapter in his footballing career with FC Goa. The club’s management and fans alike are excited about the prospect of witnessing his skills and contributions on the pitch.
