Bengaluru: As India secures a spot in the semi-finals of the SAFF Championship, head coach Igor Stimac has expressed his belief that a draw in their last group match against Kuwait would not affect their campaign significantly. With their sights set on advancing to the finals, Stimac emphasized the importance of looking at the tournament as a whole and aiming for victory in every game.

The Indian national football team will face Kuwait in their final group stage match on Tuesday at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium in Bengaluru. Currently leading Group A, India has already secured a spot in the semi-finals, along with Kuwait. Both teams are tied on points (6) and goal differential (6+), making the upcoming clash crucial in determining the group winner.

To advance to the semi-finals as group winners, India must secure a victory against Kuwait. Although both teams have already progressed, India finds itself behind Kuwait in terms of goals scored. Consequently, a win is the only outcome that will guarantee India’s advancement to the next stage of the tournament.

Head coach Igor Stimac remains optimistic about his team’s chances and has instilled a mindset focused on claiming victory in their final group encounter. While acknowledging the significance of the match, Stimac emphasizes the broader goal of winning the tournament title and urges his players to give their best effort on the field.

The clash between India and Kuwait promises to be a thrilling contest, as both teams have displayed commendable performances throughout the tournament. The encounter not only determines the group winner but also shapes the path for the semi-finals, as the winner will face the second-placed team from Group B.

The Indian football team, known as the Blue Tigers, has shown remarkable progress under the guidance of Igor Stimac. With an impressive display of skill and teamwork, they have earned their place at the top of Group A.
