Harare (Zimbabwe): West Indies coach Daren Sammy expressed his unwavering positivity ahead of the upcoming Super Six stage matches in their quest to qualify for the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup. Despite facing significant challenges, Sammy believes in the potential of his team and remains determined to guide them towards success.
“I’m a very positive thinker, and I understand the journey that I have to take with this team,” Sammy stated confidently. “Sometimes you’ve got to reach rock bottom to come back. I understand the challenges ahead, and I also understand that things won’t change overnight. It’s a true reflection of where our cricket is at the moment, and we have a lot of work to do.”
Sammy’s optimism comes as the International Cricket Council (ICC) announced the fixtures for the Super Six stage of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup, which will determine the final two spots for the tournament in India in 2023. This stage will see six teams fiercely competing for a chance to secure their place in the prestigious event.
