Antigua: Miles Bascombe Appointed as Cricket West Indies Director of Cricket The West Indies Cricket Board (CWI) has announced the appointment of former West Indies cricketer Miles Bascombe as the new Director of Cricket on a three-year contract. Bascombe will be taking over from Jimmy Adams, who has served in the role for the past six years. The decision was made at a Board of Directors meeting held at the Coolidge Cricket Ground in Antigua on Friday.
CWI released an official statement to confirm Bascombe’s appointment, stating, “Cricket West Indies (CWI) has appointed Miles Bascombe as the new Director of Cricket on a three-year contract. Bascombe will take over from Jimmy Adams, who has been in the role for the past six years.”
Bascombe, 37, brings a wealth of experience to his new position. He represented the West Indies in one T20 International match in 2011 and played first-class cricket from 2007 to 2017.
Following his playing career, Bascombe transitioned into cricket administration and served as a men’s selector at CWI from 2019 to 2021. He also held the position of technical director at the Windward Island Cricket Board over the past two years, further enhancing his understanding of the game at the regional level.
