Noida: In an exhilarating display of skill and determination, Puja Tomar emerged victorious in Matrix Fight Night’s (MFN) first-ever all-women main event. The event took place at the MFN 12 Noida Indoor Stadium on Saturday, where Tomar faced off against her formidable Russian opponent, Anastasia Feofanova, in a gruelling bout. Tomar successfully defended her Strawweight title, leaving a lasting impression on the audience.

The star-studded event was graced by the presence of Bollywood superstars Tiger Shroff and Disha Patani, who captivated fans with their dynamic presence. Indian cricket star Shikhar Dhawan and MMA star Ritu Phogat were also in attendance, adding to the excitement as they cheered on the Indian fighters.

The main event lasted for four intense rounds, showcasing the fighters’ exceptional skill and endurance. In the first round, Tomar landed a powerful left-hand hook on Feofanova’s face, swiftly taking her down to the ground. Despite Feofanova’s height advantage, Tomar exhibited excellent defensive prowess and kept her opponent at a distance. Tomar targeted Feofanova’s left knee with powerful kicks, wearing her down and earning crucial points.

As the bout progressed, Tomar’s relentless assault intensified, landing heavy blows to Feofanova’s face. In a dramatic turn of events, the fight came to an end in the fourth round when Tomar’s corner decided to stop the fight due to Feofanova breaking her forearm while defending against Tomar’s powerful strikes. The referee declared Tomar the winner via TKO (Technical Knockout).

Expressing her gratitude after the victory, Tomar thanked her family for their unwavering support. She credited her late father as the driving force behind her success, stating, “I want to thank my late father. I am sure he will be proud to see me. My family’s constant support has been the reason for me reaching this point in my MMA career.”

In the co-main event, overseas prospects Mochamed Machaev from Austria and Khabibullo Azizov from Tajikistan clashed in a gritty featherweight bout. However, due to an accidental kick to the groyne, the match was declared a no-contest.

The event also featured a thrilling main card with notable victories by Chungren Koren, Shyamanand, Rahul Thapa, Pawan Maan, and Digamber Singh Rawat. The preliminary fights saw impressive wins by Gurtej Singh, Dushyant, Sonam Zomba, and Aminder Bisht, showcasing the depth of talent in the MMA arena.

MFN co-founders Ayesha Shroff and Krishna Shroff expressed their delight at the action-packed night, appreciating the hard work and dedication of the fighters. Ayesha Shroff commended the fighters for their remarkable performances and congratulated the winners, while Krishna Shroff expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support from the audience, promising more thrilling nights in the future.
