Barbados, West Indies: In an unexpected turn of events, Kerala star Sanju Samson was not included in the Indian playing XI for the first One-day International (ODI) against the West Indies in Barbados on Thursday. The team management opted for Surya Kumar Yadav over Sanju in the opening encounter of the three-match series. Surya Kumar Yadav’s presence at No. 3 proved crucial as India recorded a comprehensive five-wicket victory.
However, an unforeseen issue with the T-shirt size caused a delay in the arrival of a new jersey for Surya Kumar Yadav. Consequently, Surya was forced to take the field wearing Sanju Samson’s jersey for the match.
It is believed that Surya promptly informed the team management about the size issue, as the jersey assigned to him turned out to be medium-sized instead of the required large. Despite the unexpected attire mishap, Surya Kumar Yadav remained focused on the game and delivered a commendable performance.
